Welcome to thewikiman.org

This website has been created to complement the the wikiman blog; set up to document the creation of a new Wiki within the Higher Education Environment, but now going off on all kinds of Information Professional tangents.

This site contains more detailed information on the wikiman, including presentations and papers, an archive of reports on conferences and trainings he's attended, more info about the Wiki, and who the wikiman really is and what he really does. It also contains info about the Library Routes Project.

about the Wikis themselves

The Wiki which this website and blog was set up to cover is a Best Practice Wiki for Digitisation in Higher Education. The initial focus is on scanning of books and journals under the CLA Scanning & Photocopying Licence, but the remit may expand to other types of digitisation if the demand is there. See the wiki page for more details.

Since the site was created, the wikiman has been involved in the creation of another Wiki, as part of the Library Routes Project. More information about how the project originated can be found here.
