Gee now I feel bad for making you feel bad - this could go on forever!

From the look of it you're doing a great job with the blog and I must admit I'm slightly envious of your website.

In terms of what decisions to make with regard to what to leave in and what to leave out I'd say don't worry about it too much. What I want to read in a blog post is the author's opinions and perspective on whatever topic they're writing about not something that's really edited down so not to offend.

Haha, okay now I feel bad! To be honest I'm still feeling my way with the whole process of blogging etc, and I'm not sure if I'm making the right decisions with regards to what I put in and what I leave out... Perhaps I should have included the link to your blog but phrased things less irreverantly. But the reason I put it in was two-fold - first of all because I wanted some perspective, rather than just putting in links to the more positive responses.

Mainly though, it was because I agree with what you said - I'm not sure it did get us anywhere, really. I tried to get us somewhere towards the end, but I was aware of more of my presentation being devoted to the problem, than to potential solutions. Certainly for me, Jo's presentation was of a lot more pratical use than mine, for example.

But as much as I enjoyed looking at the stereotypes etc, what I really wanted people to get out of it (what I got out of it) was the basic facts that a: we are still portrayed innacurately outside the profession, b: this really does actually matter and is something we need to engage with and take seriously, and c: we can start trying to change it, one customer-interaction at a time as well as on a grander scale...
